Homework for week 3
Hey guys,
What a wonderful start to the week with the sun shining.
The word of the week is "Valour". This word is used a lot in the awarding of military medals and for excetional people.
Great to see people remembering to bring their spelling notebooks and homework books to school each day. Its helping us to remember that our homework needs to be done.
Spelling must be tested, ticked and signed by a parent each night and sighted by me the next day. (well done if you are doing that!!)
Reading logs are not being signed by parents so please remember to do this so I can verify that you are doing your reading.

The wonders of I.C.T
This Video shows the wonders of what we can achieve in I.C.T at school. The Nintendo Wii idea is cool!
Thanks to Mr. S Baker for posting this Youtube vid on his class blog fab4@Work (mrbsblog.com)
Google does it again
Do you want to get up close and personal with the moon?
Well, with the 40th anniversary of the Lunar Moon landing (for those that still believe in it, like Miss Hems)
Google have introduced a neat Google Earth Map.
Click on (www.google.com/moon/) it lets users take 3D flyovers of the moon and, like similar features for planet Earth, these are enhanced with additional content.
Save the words.
Hey kids, think the word of the week homework is too easy?
Well check out www.savethewords.com
This site will expose you to words you never though existed. It will show you words that were feared extinct.
It will teach you words that will 'out-vocab' your parents.
This site offers the challenge of 'adopt-a-word'. This means that you will be given a word and you have the challenge of using throughout your day and at school or in your writing. Perhaps you would like to sign up to the 'word of the day' newsletter.
Worth a look

What is Mr. Reade reading...
Devil May Care - A James Bond Novel.

Farewell to one of the crew!!
We would like to wish one of our very own, a fond farewell.
Michael and his family will be leaving us to live in Australia and he won't be returning to us in term 3.
We have loved having Michael in our class and he will be greatly missed by us all.
We hope he will keep in touch and drop us a line on the Back To baSIX blog.
